Dunraven Pass

Grand Loop Road, Tower–Canyon Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

The highest road in Yellowstone, between Tower Fall and Canyon. Unlike the pure weather passes, the park publishes target dates each spring — Dunraven is usually the last segment on the list, and a late storm can still move it.

The record

Opens on the park's spring schedule, usually the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. Closes for the season in early November, or earlier when storms arrive. The winter closure covers the Tower Fall to Canyon Village stretch over the pass.
