Old Fall River Road
The park's original road over the divide — nine miles of one-way gravel switchbacks up to Fall River Pass. It opens weeks after Trail Ridge most summers, and its short season is part of the appeal.

The record
Usually opens around the Fourth of July, well after Trail Ridge. Closes to vehicles in early October, or with the first big storm. The winter closure covers the one-way climb from Endovalley to Fall River Pass.
We're still assembling this road's year-by-year record from Rocky Mountain NP archives — it will appear here as it's confirmed. In the meantime, Rocky Mountain NP's page has current conditions.
