The avalanche-raked pass on Yellowstone's east side, the road in from Cody. The park opens it on a published spring schedule — one of the first segments each May — and manages slide paths above it all season.

The record

Opens on the park's spring schedule, usually the first Friday of May. Closes for the season in early November. The winter closure covers the East Entrance Road between the gate and Fishing Bridge.
